The Petra II
Petra. The Greek word for rock. The name Peter was built on it. So is this.
The Petra is a statement piece — 12" of hand-cut, hand-polished Indiana limestone anchored at its base and crowned with a hand-carved Iowa hardwood cross, cord-wrapped to the stone with intention. This is not a small carved limestone sculpture. It earns the shelf it occupies. It fills a mantle. It commands a corner.
For the entryway. The altar table. The wall where something should be said without words.
12" tall, 8.5 lbs one of a kind — no two leave the studio the same.
How substantial are these pieces? Where should I display them?
They have a solid, powerful presence. These are heavy, heirloom-quality sculptures (typically weighing around 2 to 4 pounds). They are designed with a sturdy flat foundation, making them perfect for prominent display on a mantel, bookshelf, desk, or dedicated home-altar space where they won't easily tip.
