The Gray Stone
Some things don’t need to announce themselves. This is one of them.
A block of limestone — rounded at the corners, the color of an overcast sky — holds a small wood cross on its face. The cross is whitewashed, rough at the edges, bound at the center with a wrap of leather cord. A leather strap loops over the back, tucked against the stone like it belongs there. Tea light included.
It’s a quiet piece — not decorative in the way that demands attention, but the kind that steadies a room from the corner of a shelf. Handmade by Mike in small batches; no two are identical. Display on a flat, level surface, and keep it level when the candle is lit.
"He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken." — Psalm 62:2
